Principles of Adult Learning

The principles of Human Performance Improvement (HPI) and Adult Learning are very important in my work. How this shows up?

I collaborate with my clients to build and deploy a Learning and Development Strategy that makes learning personal, relevant, enjoyable, and which has a direct impact to the bottom line and individual success.

To achieve the results my customer wants, I embrace four key principles when working with organizations. I:

  • approach Workplace Learning with a Performance Improvement focus, so that we address key challenges and opportunities holistically.
  • structure the Organizational Learning Environment in a manner that fosters an optimal and inclusive learning climate, through evidence-based adult learning insights.
  • ensure the company culture, learning philosophy, and instructional and learning experiences design elements complement the particular needs of adult learners.
  • equip the workplace and its workforce with tools, technology, resources, and practical knowhow on how they can learn effectively in all learning situations.

Why do these principles matter to me? Because I am passionate about integrating learning at the workplace when, where, and how it is most effective:

Learning at the moment of need, with the learner in mind!
